MONDAY AT 10AM

Hey All, 

First and foremost  just want to say Happy Holidays to everyone.  Couple things to discuss, 

1. Tuesday's Practice is Cancelled (obviously for Christmas)

2. Thursday is back on at 5pm at Variety Village

3, MONDAYS GROUP!!!     10AM

Variety Village will be packed on Monday with other track clubs, so I've decided to move practice to Monarch Park's new indoor facility.  I've got free passes so we can do a workout and can check out a new facility.  It's a 400m indoor track.  

Here's a map.  The main intersections are Coxwell and Danforth.  The track is covered with a  white Bubble.  Just send me a message if you're coming out so I have an idea of  numbers.

COACH KITEVSKI ROLLING

Coach Julia Kitevski has been the perfect example of how the Blue Devils do, when competing.  Recently, Julia left on a full NCAA scholarship to the University of Middle Tennessee.  After an injury that brought her 2012 OFSAA track season to a halt, Julia has been able to come back stronger then ever and compete for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raider's cross country team.  Though only a true-freshman (first year) Julia has battled for top runner on their team with fellow upperclassmen.

Last week Julia led the Blue Raiders (Middle Tennessee  to the Sun Belt Conference fourth place team title and finishing 6th herself with a time of 18:17 in the 5km. This was a pleasant surprise for the Blue Raider's were expected to place 6th as a team. Julia claimed titles of All-Sun Belt honours as well as the Sun Belt Women's Freshman of the Year!!

Julia is waiting to hear if her performance will move her on individually to the NCAA Regional Championships in Florida.

BLUE DEVILS XC CHALLENGE

Hello Runners,

We're 3 days away from our big race down at Ashbridges Bay.  This is a great culmination to our program and a great way to show off how they've improved.  So come out and race.  It's suppose to be a great day!!!

Things to remember:

1. Race Start time is 10am so be there early to register and learn the course

2. We are at the Washing station closer to the point

3. The race is 2km.  It's flat and fast and NO SAND!!!

4. Parents are welcome to run as well.

Blue Devils XC Challenge

When:         November 4th 2012

Where:        Ashbridges Bay  (Toronto Beaches-bathing station closest to the point)

Time:          10 am race start (please arrive early to allow for registration warm-up etc)

Cost:           $5         ($2 if you bring your Blue Devils Band) 

Who:          Grades 2-8

Parents (we’ll form teams with you too->-you can challenges your kids!!!!)

Beaches Blue Devils are hosting a FUN RUN and are welcoming athletes to participate.   There are no age categories.  This will be one race with all athletes racing in one race.  The devils will be splitting their team up equally and have an inter-squad challenge.  We welcome other teams to do so. 

Note:  Parents are welcome to challenge their kids and race

ONTARIO CHAMPIONS

Freezing cold and rain didn't stop the Blue Devils on Saturday in London for the Ontario Minor Track Championships.  Kids came from all over the province but all fell short with the FANTASTIC SHOWING BY THE BLUE DEVILS!!!! Our athletes are ranked as some of the best athletes in Ontario!!!  When the Blue Devils show up to a meet, YOU KNOW IT'S GOING TO BE A RACE!!!

Mite Girls started the day off by clenching the 2nd place team title (missing 1st by 2 points)
Caleigh Pribaz placed 2nd 

Rebecca Warcholak placed 13th

Avery Clarke placed 15th

Clare Botha placed 17th

Katie Anderson placed 21st

Livia Collinson came up huge for the Tyke Girls placing 5th overall.  Tyke teammate Kathleen was unable to race due to sickness but cheered her fellow teammates like a champ!!!

Tyke Boys stepped up next with their undefeated team title on the line and was this ever a showing!!! 

Big Mac Wood led the team with a huge 1st place finish

Connor Pribaz placed 5th 

Malcolm Warcholak placed 7th

Harry Doane placed 23rd 

Ethan Rowe placed 38th

Atoms Girls next up for the Blue Devils and didn't let the muddied course stop them

Katie Stephens made her debut performance racing in the MTA placing 60th

Sarah Anderson had a huge kick placing 70th

Our final Athletes of the day were the Atom boys and showed they weren't to be messed with 

Tristin Rowe placed 25th

Liam White placed 28th

Our next and final meet of the season is a home meet down at Ashbridges Bay on November 3rd.

LET'S SHOW THE MTA HOW THE BLUE DEVILS DO!!!

Thursday our Devils had a fantastic showing with everyone having top performances at the City Finals.  The weather held up and the Blue Devils shined!!!

Avery Clarke rolled to a 11th finish in the Grade 2 Girls
Greer Kelly finished 47th in the Grade 2 Girls
Lexy Rivard and Caleigh Pribaz rocked with a 1, 2 finish in the Grils Grade 3
Kathleen Botha had a great finish with her 6th place performance in the Grade 4 Girls
Zoriana Pankiw pushed through to come 68th in the Grade 4 Girls
Trifon Trifonidis placed 41st in the Grade 4 Boys
Connor Pribaz had an amazing kick placing him 3rd in the Grade 5 Boys
Liam Rivard put it all on the line to take home the gold in the Grade 6 Boys
Tristin Rowe held on for a fantastic 7th place performance in the Grade 6 Boys
Will Stew placed 6th in the Grade 7 Boys
Jackson Taylor placed 46th in the Grade 8 Boys

What a day for these athletes. There are a few more performers that I don't have results for.  Great Job!!  

SUNNYBROOKE RACE

The results are pouring in over Monday's performances at Sunnybrooke Park. It was nothing but Blue and Gold crossing the line in top places.  And many of the Blue Devils who raced Saturday had to come back again for this big one just two days later!

Ethan Rowe was 1st in the Grade 4 Boys

Sarah Anderson was 8th in the Grade 7 Girls

What an exceptional day for the Blue Devils this past weekend.  The team faced the treacherousness Centenial Park course in Etotobicoke, and came out shining with top performances by all.

The Blue Devils started the day off with some new recruits in the PeeWee Division.  The team took home the 2nd place team tite.
Sydney Clarke placed 9th
Sarah Botha placed 18th

The Mite Girls were up next and continued their rein of destruction with another 1st place team title.
